The Situation is a satirical decision game. The characters and outcomes are fictional.
Practice mode does not need an account. The official daily game asks you to sign in with Google. That sign-in stores a hashed player id and the Google account subject. The signed session cookie lasts seven days and carries the Google email and name. Your daily choices, codename, and score are stored so the official run can be saved and shown on the leaderboard.
Cloudflare receives the connection as the site host. Guest abuse limits use a hash of the connecting address. Ranked play uses the signed session, not a request header supplied by the browser.
A daily count stores the UTC day, the page path, and a coarse kind: human, agent, or unknown. That count does not store a cookie, an IP address, or an account. When Cloudflare Web Analytics is configured, the page also loads Cloudflare's cookieless beacon.
